This is true. However, I would like to encourage people to only use that 
as a last resort. The "OCAMLDEP_MODULES" approach is a lot more powerful 
  and accurate; it takes away the need for manually specifying the 
generated files (such as ocamllex and ocamlyacc ones), etc.

Hm, I do not think the docs are wrong - may be they are just unclear? Or 
perhaps I am missing the error? In any case, could you please point out 
which part of the docs is wrong/unclear and I'll try fixing that.

Gerd, I would be very interested in hearing about any issues causing you 
to make this step. We want to make OCAMLDEP_MODULES_ENABLED work for 
everybody and, ideally, we'd like to be able to get rid of the "old" 
ocamldep approach at some point in the future.
