Wow, this must have taken forever to track down! Is this likely to be 
the source of all those weird Windows crashes? If so, we should probably 
mention it on http://bugzilla.metaprl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=526

Also, couple of days ago they've announced on the mailing list a release 
candidate for 3.09.2 - you might want to comment on this bug in that 
thread.
